Teeth suffering from gum disease and decay are obviously the cause of unattractive and unpleasant smile. In order to prevent your teeth from decaying, it is important that you brush and floss in the morning and in the night before going to sleep daily.

You should also replace it about every three to four months as soon as the bristles are worn or bent. You need to use the toothpaste that contains fluoride which helps strengthen tooth enamel. Rinsing with a fluoride mouthwash before bed can also fight tooth decay.
Flossing is done to clean the places where a toothbrush cannot reach. Only flossing can remove plaque from between the teeth and below the gumline. In order to achieve the best results of flossing, you should start with about 18 inches of floss; wind most of the floss around each middle finger, leaving an inch or two of floss to work with.
You need to hold the floss carefully between your thumbs and index fingers, slide it gently up-and-down between your teeth. You should gently curve the floss around the base of each tooth, making sure you go beneath the gumline. Never snap or force the floss, as this may cut or bruise delicate gum tissue. Interdental brushes are a suitable alternative to flossing.
